Madonna di Campiglio
Lying on a beautiful two-handled bowl, at 1550 metres of altitude, between the mountain group of the Brenta Dolomites and the glaciers of Adamello and Presanella, it became a famous resort in the second half of XIX century. It gave hospitality to many Austrian nobles: in particular, in 1889 and in 1894, there were the Princess Sissi and the Empereor Francesco Giuseppe: to recall the splendour of that period it is organized the Carnival.
Now, it is a well equipped tourism centre, in a citizen atmosphere, with numerous hotels, residences, apartments, shops, boutiques, sports and free time structures. But only few steps are sufficient to reach lakes, valleys, streams, mountain huts and lodges, lighted by a warm sun.
